I just mean that I had to type & l t ; (that is, < ) to get the code to show up in a visual way without turning into actual bolded/italicized/cut text in this very comment

If you copy/paste this literal comment with the "cut" code it won't work probably, similar to & n b s p ; for nonbroken space
